At Winters Brothers, we don’t just care about cleaning up local communities with trash pickup and waste management; we care about the residents. That’s why we give back to those who support us all year, especially during the holidays.
Our recent holiday charity initiative involved a joint effort between Winters Bros. and the Winters Center for Autism to support families facing hardship during the holiday season. Together, we organized a significant food drive on November 20th, resulting in a generous donation to the Gerald J. Ryan Outreach Center in Wyandanch, NY. The Center has 320 families that need food during the holiday season. On November 20th, 2023, we donated 75 Thanksgiving turkeys and more than 1,000 nonperishable food and household essentials. But that’s not all! We also provided volunteers to help distribute turkeys to the community and help sort the food in the center’s pantry.
The Gerald J. Ryan Outreach Center is a beacon of hope for the community, offering emergency food assistance, educational programs, and job placement. The Center’s food pantry, one of Long Island’s largest, annually assists around 15,000 individuals, aiding those in need within Wyandanch and neighboring areas. Noelle Campbell, the Center’s Executive Director, stated, “The need for food in the community is tremendous this year, as many families are struggling to choose between keeping the lights on or having a holiday meal.”
